Twitch just came out with another incentive for subscribers. It’s….ReSub Notifications for Subscribers!!! Now I know a lot of our readers are Twitch Streamers still looking to get their sub button and partnership, but filling you guys in on updates and news is definitely still necessary.
The name ReSub Notifications had me a little confused at first, but I think I got the full scoop now. Before I explain the “full scoop” though, I want to quote the Twitch Support regarding some of the notifications from subscribers that you may have been seeing in chat.
[Note from Support: You may have noticed some craziness overnight with sub notifications in chat. That was directly related to this feature. We apologize for not giving a proper warning before pushing this to production.]
Now that we got that out of the way, and you now know that the reason for these notifications is THIS update, I’m sure you can breathe again! The update is essentially doing two things. It’s not only allowing subscribers to show the chat/broadcaster when they “ReSub”, but it’s also allowing them to show off their stripes. By this I mean that subscribers will be able to show their channel loyalty by simply clicking a button. Let’s take a look at the picture Twitch uses to show the notification we’re talking about.
As you can see at the top of the picture, there’s a “Share” button that allow the viewer/subscriber to let the chat know of his anniversary with the Broadcaster! As long as the Broadcaster and Subscriber are in the channel, the sub will have 14 days to share the news, or the notification will go away.
I love this new addition to the subscriber incentives, but I’d also love to know what you think! We see a lot of “SUB HYPE!” going on in channels, and I think this is another way to get some hype behind subscribing to a channel. In my opinion it’s a big win for streamers, but share your opinion in the comments below nonetheless!
